School of Art Academic Wins Richest Landscape Art Prize

The Head of Sculpture at the School of Art, Wendy Teakel, was recently awarded the lucrative Country Energy Prize for Landscape Painting for her artwork Black Soil Country.  Wendy’s submission was selected from 41 finalists' works.

The Country Energy Art Prize is Australia’s richest annual landscape art prize, valued at $35,000 and attracts entries from previous Archibald and Blake winners to first time entrants.
Wendy was also a finalist in the Country Energy Art Prize in 2003, 2005, 2008 and 2009.
